Richard
Fanelli, AIA, IFMA Fellow
Rich Fanelli, a registered architect, has been in the commercial design
profession since 1977. Working as an architect and designer for both
local and national design firms in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
He founded Fanelli McClain Design Studios, under the name Interplan,
Inc. in 1985. Rich has always stayed ahead of trends in the workplace
through his involvement as an active member of the International Facilities
Management Association (IFMA), where he currently serves on the International
Board of Directors.
He served as a board member for the Capital Chapter
of IFMA from 1984 to 2002. He became President of the Chapter 2001/2002.
Rich teaches IFMA International’s certificate course at locations
throughout the country and has presented various topics to the IFMA
International World Workplace Conferences. He is a contributing author
of several facilities management textbooks published by The Building
Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). He serves as an instructor for
the Facility Management Certificate Program at George Mason University,
and has recently served as a member of Virginia Tech’s Interior
Design Advisory Board. Rich writes highlighting Project Management column
that appears in the Washington Business Journal.
Sonny
McClain, AIA
Sonny McClain, a registered architect, began his professional career
in 1975 working with large architectural firms specializing in base
building design and hospital projects in Arkansas and Texas. He joined
Intraplan in 1988 following a term as a principal of a Dallas-based
firm, The Team Architects, Inc. Sonny was formerly associated with several
large firms in Washington, D.C. and Dallas, Texas. His years of experience
have included both large and small commercial and retail projects, many
have been both technical and design intensive. Sonny’s clients
benefit from his depth of knowledge and his fresh, creative approach
to space planning and design.
